A brief history of Magnetite
When we first started out in 1998, retrofit double glazing was still a relatively new concept in Australia. We saw a need for a company that could provide this service to homeowners who wanted to reduce noise and improve the thermal insulation of their homes but were unable to replace their existing windows due to being a heritage property or a strata apartment.
We stepped up to the challenge and have since helped thousands of homeowners across the country to soundproof and improve the thermal insulation of their homes, making their homes more comfortable.
Magnetite has since grown to become one of the leading providers of soundproofing and thermal insulation solution for existing windows and doors, in homes and offices across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

Magnetite was the first to introduce a retrofit double-glazing system in Australian market, which has now become a more accepted and common practice in the industry. From a double garage in an old house in Ashfield NSW to a million-dollar installation at the iconic Commonwealth Money Box Building in Sydney’s Martin Place, Magnetite’s journey began with hard work, great vision and innovation from Canadian brothers Ben and Adrian Lafleur and has managed to retain the feeling and values of a family business. These values are exemplified in our franchise network through the care and dedication of all of our network.
