Built in 1924 as Cadbury Fry warehouse, this irregular heritage building was transformed into four unique apartments by TKD Architects. Formerly called Lawson Menzies House this heritage building contributes to the historic and aesthetic values of the prominent Sydney’s precinct, The Rocks. In appreciation to the building’s raw state, the architects brought natural elements to the interior of this unique contemporary city living. To add more comfort, Magnetite was commissioned to provide noise insulation in this heritage listed property. A 10mm thickness panel was retrofitted to the existing west facing timber windows on level 2 and 3. As a secondary system, Magnetite was able to help TKD Architects in retaining the aesthetic and preserving the character of this heritage building.
